MCCLV PRESENTS….
On Friday, May 16th and
Saturday, May 17th at 8pm, Metropolitan Community Church of the Lehigh Valley will present an evening of
entertainment at their new space at 930 North 4th Street in the Silkworks Building in Allentown
to introduce the community to their plans for a new theater company. The company is currently planning on doing two major
productions a year, as well as evenings of one-acts, performance art, scenes & monologues, and musical revues.
These
evenings will include scenes from:
- Fall 2008 musical comedy production of “The Big Voice: God or Merman?” – Book by Jim
Brochu, Music & Lyrics by Steve Schalchlin - a chamber musical about growing up gay and religious, long-term gay relationships,
AIDS, and the spiritual and healing powers of show biz;
- Winter 2009 production of “Their Town” by Paula Martinac - a gay-themed comedy on gay marriage
rights inspired by the classic “Our Town”;
- Fall 2009 production of the musical “Godspell” by Stephen Schwartz & John-Michael Tebelak
– set in a trendy gay neighborhood with a GLBTA cast.
- It will also include monologues, musical numbers, and staged readings – setting a precedent for future evenings
of performance art/readings/monologues of original material by artists based on their personal life experiences.
THERE WILL BE A SUGGESTED DONATION OF $10 AT THE DOOR. The funds raised by these performances
will be used to launch the upcoming performances.
For Additional Information, please contact the Director, Dean Hiatt

Adopt An Apartment
MCCLV has adopted an apartment at the 6 street shelter in Allentown and we need your help!
As part
of the Helping Hands Ministry, our church has adopted an apartment at the 6th street shelter here in Allentown.
This shelter specifically caters to families and children. We will be supplying everything but the bed and dressers for our
apartment every 60 days or so. The families staying there will stay for 60 days and then be able to take everything with them
to start a new life somewhere and we have the amazing opportunity to provide them with all the things they may need.
Below is a
list of supplies that we need to furnish and stock the apartment. Anything you can contribute would be great! Please contact
someone in the Helping Hands ministry before donating large items so that we do not double up. Remember we will be resupplying
this apartment four (4) different times this year.
